How often do you find yourself having to go an extra mile, and by this I mean, how often do you really have to push yourself in order to achieve a particular goal? And, when you are is such a situation, how far are you willing to push yourself? This could be a matter of you trying to further your education or even trying to secure a promotion at work.
Understanding Comfort Zones
When you are in your “comfort zone” you are in a position where you feel comfortable with that which you have; you feel content not having to take chances, or having to venture into the unknown. So many people go through life being too afraid to chase their dreams. Quite often, this is because they listen to what other similar people are saying; they are allowing those people to hold them back, or in many cases, they are holding others back.
Never let anyone hold you back! People need to learn how to push mental boundaries, even if it makes them feel uncomfortable. As you go through life, there will be many times when you need to push yourself; when you need to step out of your comfort zone. This is the only way you can blossom and enjoy a more enriched life.
What Prevents Us from Moving Forward
Most commonly, we are held back by doubts, and by fear of the unknown. This is what gives us that queasy feeling in our gut; what makes us feel so anxious before we even start taking on something which we are not familiar with. Fortunately, fear can be totally eradicated, just as any other emotion can be.
Do It, No Matter How You Feel about It
If you really want to do something, you just have to go for it, regardless of how the prospect of doing it makes you feel. If you learn how to push your mental boundaries, you can achieve amazing goals, and the more often you do it, the easier it gets.
Never Underestimate your Potential
Way too many people fail to realize their own potential; they allow fear and anxiety to stop them dead in their tracks, and as a result, they never get to live their dreams. Once again, don’t be afraid to push those boundaries; don’t ever let them stand in your way. If you keep pushing and you keep trying, you will inevitably reach that wonderful place where you are so longing to be.
Crush your Fears
Fear is only an emotion, albeit a very powerful one, but one which can nonetheless be controlled to the point where it becomes almost non-existent. Thousands of years ago, fear helped us to survive; it’s what’s responsible for our fight or flight instinct. In today’s world, however, such a degree of fear is no longer needed. Once you are in control of fear, you will no longer feel nauseous from worry and anxiety whenever you step out of your comfort zone.
Remember, those shaky hands you experience; that dry feeling in your mouth and that horrible feeling in you get in your stomach when faced with a challenge, are all caused by adrenaline which is produced by the body in response to fear. Get rid of the fear, and you will get rid of the adrenaline rushes as well, and only will you be able to achieve fantastic things in your life.
