Push Through And Stay Committed
You wake up naturally. The pressure in your bladder is building. That’s when you slowly start to realize that you have more to do than just use the restroom.?
A mental note of the day starts checking off in your mind. Your body is more interested in rolling over and trying to fall back asleep, but your brain won’t let you.?
On top of it all, you still have to use the bathroom.?
Downstairs, the light stings your eyes. You still haven’t focused yet. You pause so that you can register that it’s morning. Everything inside of you wants to crawl back into bed.?
That’s when it starts. That’s when the excuses bubble up to the surface of your consciousness.?
It’s early. Your mind is lazy. You stayed up later than you intended, and all you want to do is put your head back down on the pillow.?
You know you can’t. You have a big day ahead of you. So much stuff has to get done. If you put it off now, there is no telling if you will accomplish as much as you planned.?
The cold glass of water wakes you up. Sleep is dissolving in your head, and you begin to start feeling more alert. Going back to be does sound comforting.?
Even if it’s just for 30 minutes.?
Phone notifications seemed to have exploded during the night. So many replies and so many appointments need a response.?
Begrudgingly, you take the water back to your office and sit at the computer.?
You’re tired. This feels like it can wait. The world doesn’t need your attention this early. Deep down you know you have to get this done, but you don’t want to.?
The password you entered is incorrect. Your fingers feel stiff and sluggish as you reenter the BigB@ll3r2k? for the second time.?
Nothing is clicking. The synapses in your brain are still misfiring. You absolve to just wait until later in the afternoon to do any work. This all can wait.?
At the doorway you pause. There is a nagging feeling in your gut reminding you to sit back down. You sigh openly and look towards the couch.?
“What’s another hour?” You say to no one. “I am just really tired right now.”
You can’t help but hear the whine in your voice. Excuses come quicker now that you are awake.?
It can wait.?
The deadline isn’t until next week.

It’s early yet. No one is going to reply back anyway. Let them get into the office first.?
I’m always hustling. I am burning myself out. This will happen. I just need a mental health break.?
Damn it, I am tired right now. I didn’t think I would be up this late. I just want to sit and gather my thoughts, that is all.?
It’s in these moments, we have to persevere and show up to get the work done. There will be days in our lives where it just doesn’t feel right.?
We are tired mentally and physically.?
And the biggest mistake we can make is to let our lazy selves take over. We committed to finishing the tasks that we agreed upon.?
Not once did we think this would be easy. We have to show up, even when we don’t want to.?
Stress finds a way to elevate when we know a task needs our attention, but we neglect it for comfort. Then as it builds up, we get even more burnt out.?
Some days, the magic is not there. Those days we have to work even harder so that what we accomplish keeps us on track.
There has to be a bit of a struggle to make our dreams a reality. Never did we think otherwise because the harsh truth is, that sacrifice comes at a cost.?
We pay for it when we are tired and disconnected. The debt required is keeping your word to not only to those people who rely on you but more importantly to yourself.?
The feeling of accomplishment in those difficult moments will reward you immediately. The long game is your commitment to success.?
Showing up and showing out when you least feel like it is a reminder that you will not let anything stand in your way.?
The question remains, how badly do you want it?? Are you willing to hold yourself accountable?
If you do, sleep won’t matter. Neither will anything else. In the end, only the people who truly accomplish great things, are the people willing to live and breathe the discomfort of it all.?
So buck up. Get back to that desk. Power up, and get the work done.?
If you want it bad enough, you will figure out a way.
Also, you still have to use the bathroom. No sense in soiling yourself.
