Let me take you through the process We are all probably familiar with the concepts of

Push & pull but let us cover it again from all angles:

Push vs. Pull in Sales:

Push is about moving finished goods from one Warehouse to another , from buyer to seller , Brand owner to distributor warehouse.

Why??

Achieving topline targets is always the victim

When??

End of the month or End of the year regardless of safety stock or sales running rate.

Risk: High in sales returns & expiries

Losses: High as you do alot of offers, discounts and offer free goods to convince Customers to take your goods which erode profit & bottom line.

Pull:

You are focusing on your brand identity & service levels you provide to customers & consumers the benefits and what is in it for people emotionally more than the normal functional benefits that all competition show your unique selling point, This increase demand on your products gradually thus consumer pull your product from the shelves.

Hence reduce the need for extra promotions & improves profitability, Order management, Product replenishment you need to chase demand to ensure product availability.

Same applies to your personal brand on social media you may push your CV through multiple channels without editing or apply to multiple jobs that thousands are applying for and blame it on luck & lack of opportunities but in reality.... what did you do ? did you enhance your linkedin profile or social media , Does it scream with all your talents and what you are can offer to the world? Are you showing your strength and unique selling point that a recruiter or customer can understand in one glance because this is the time that you have with all the buzz happening in the media.

The road may look easier with push strategy but chances are narrow it's like winning a lottery while if you consistently improve pull effect is like a snowball you will attract your target audience as everyone of us has something to offer.
