Push!

?Nine months or 36 weeks give or take a day is typically the maximum term for pregnancy but research shows that some women have actually carried a baby for 43 weeks before giving birth. 43 weeks, that’s 9 weeks shy of an entire year! If you think that’s a long time…listen to this. Some of us, both women AND men…have been pregnant for our entire life. That’s right our entire life has been one long pregnancy with us awakening day after day walking around…pregnant. 

We walk around pregnant with enormous amounts of potential. 

We walk around pregnant, bursting at the seams with this dream, that idea or an incredible goal living inside of us.

Pregnant with potential but unwilling to go into labor even if it means the birthing of something beautiful and new…Unwilling, because childbirth hurts. Childbirth hurts and in fact, most doctors agree that childbirth is the closest that a woman will come to death without actually dying. But ask anyone who has ever given birth and been on the other side and seen that beaming, beautiful face of a newborn and they’ll tell you that it was worth every ounce of the pain they endured.

It was worth every ounce of pain for them…and it will be for you too, so today, why don’t you make up your mind to go into labor…and push.

Go into labor and push that new life that’s been waiting to get out of you.

Go into labor, push and give birth to that wonderful person that has been fighting to be born.

Go into labor, push and welcome those dreams, ideas and goals that you have been holding inside of you.

You’ve been walking around in maternity clothes drenched by water that has broken time and time again for far too long. Friend, it’s time to make up your mind to fight through the pains of childbirth; no matter how painful they may be. It’s time for you to go into labor…and push because that newborn that is waiting to come out on the other side…I promise you, that beaming, beautiful face of a newborn…will be worth every ounce of the pain you endure.
