In Pursuit of Standard Weave: A Social Enterprise Perspective

Education is foremost a right and a predominant factor in ensuring the right to a successful life and impacting future generations. Tremendous progress and investment has been made in boosting basic and tertiary education in Ghana. However, despite these numerous achievements many do not have access to equitable education. Many reforms have been made to address an increase in funding in the Ghanaian basic and tertiary educational sector of which the Free SHS Education policy champions all. Even more importantly, progress towards education in Ghana should rightfully focus on the prudent management for an inclusive and equitable distribution of quality education, taking into consideration an equitable distribution of educational resources and tuition delivery.

In Standard Weave’s quest for an inclusive and equitable quality education in Ghana. We have, over the years developed a sustainable business operations where we custom-create hand woven Kente stoles for the celebration of college graduation and all other special events. Remarkable of this development is the absolute allocation of all proceeds to the Standard Weave Cares Educational Scholarship Fund which supports our cause for ensuring equitable education in Ghana.

Several case for investment in education has been established by countries through their governments, social enterprises, non-governmental organisations and several others. This is as a result of the proven results of education globally through its economic and human development returns.
