"The fruits of my life is no more than three words:

I was raw, I was? cooked, I was burnt".

This is how the great mystic poet Maulana Jalaluddin Rumi more popularly known to the world as “Rumi “ described his association with Shams Tabrez ( the great mystic scholar).??

Would Rumi have become the great Rumi, as we know him today, without the mentorship of Shams Tabrez ? The world knows that Rumi would have remained a normal teacher and not the great philosopher poet if not for the guidance of Shams Tabrez.?

It was a chance encounter with Shams Tabrez on? the streets of Konya in 1244 A.D? that? transformed Rumi forever. Shams saw the great mystic philosophical potential in Rumi and agreed to guide him. Rumi saw a great master in Shams Tabrez and agreed to be his mentee. This mentor-mentee relationship gave to the world one of its greatest philosophical poets. This is the power of mentorship in particular and leadership in general.?

We have never seen an alchemist turn base metals into gold. This is because they are not the real alchemists. Let me tell you about the real alchemists who turn even dust into gold and pearls. I am talking about the mentors and their mentorships that turn even the ordinary souls into great visionaries. The mentors are the real alchemists.????

To become a Rumi you need a Shams Tabrez. I believe that anyone can become a Rumi but there is only one condition. You need a Shams Tabrez. That is the importance of mentorship. That is the value of leadership.

A potter turns mud or clay to a beautiful piece of art. The magic, most of the time, is in the hand of the potter- the mentor. You can be a mud or a clay but you can become a fine art forever to be cherished by the world.

Just search for that Potter.
