In the Pursuit of Passion

Dear LinkedIn fellows, peers, recruiters, and influencers,

 After two and a half years I have decided to leave my company and return to the private sector. Out of every role or position I have held in my career, nothing was more challenging, demanding, and rewarding as being a business owner. As an entrepreneur I got to live the dream of building and managing a company. I got to be a leader of people (a new passion), and induce change that drove a better result and a richer culture.

 Together we built one of the leading analytics brands for Modern Finance, Profitability Analysis, and Integrated Planning. We became an IBM go to partner, achieved Gold status, and developed a reputation for our specialization, business first approach, and demo content. We created a Value Hub, that saw our subscriber count grow from 60 to almost 500 in less than 8 months. We became a content engine, and through our own media generated nearly 400K impressions in 2 campaigns, all of which led to richer business intelligence, and 7X increase in qualified pipeline generation. While I cannot disclose numbers, I can say the organization accelerated into a club that only 10% of small businesses, globally, make it into.  

 What I am most thankful for was the opportunity to execute on my vision for what I believe a Sales and Marketing strategy / platform should be. In every company I had worked for prior, this relationship was disconnected, and in many ways, adversarial. These two business units need to be mutually symbiotic. They need to understand one another, so as to dynamically produce a better result. I can thankfully say that my vision for the GTM was accomplished. I built a high performance, enterprise sales and marketing engine at scale, in less than 2 years.

 Now, I will be clear. The world needs an ActionKPI right now. The change and the result that this team of Finance disruptors, evangelists, and strategists brings to bear against conventional methods is staggering. Even the most cantankerous stalwarts of conventionalism should take heed, as ActionKPI represents not only a better way, they are the standard for where finance will need to be in 5 years time.

 Alas, in a business partnership, you must have absolute alignment and commitment to the strategy and the tactics necessary for growth. Without that alignment, you will find yourself spinning your tires, exhausted, and stagnant. It is this for this reason, that I have elected to move on.

I once heard a quote that said, "“When a man died in ancient Greece, they asked only one question: 'Did he have passion?"

I am currently open to consulting with small businesses about your Go to Market Strategies, but I am looking for my next long term position. I have the performance template and the trifecta of management, sales, and marketing experience that can take your business to the next level.
