Pursuit of happiness: Employer outlook on work is finally on the rise

Here’s a bit of good news: Lately, employees hate their jobs less than we might have thought.

A new survey from resumebuilder.com found that 87% of workers “love” or “like” their current gig, pointing to meaningful, purposeful work that’s keeping them engaged.

When it comes to the roles that employees and job seekers are most likely to chase this year, there are more surprises in store. A study by job search engine platform Adzuna recently found that public sector work, domestic help roles and academic-related careers are some of the most coveted of 2022.

For those approaching the end of their career, confidence in retirement savings is higher than expected. Eight out of 10 retirees feel confident in their ability to live comfortably off their savings; for those not yet at retirement age, 7 out of 10 believe they’re saving enough to be comfortable when the time comes.
