In pursuit of happiness

Dubai now reminds me of New York at the end of the previous millennium. A city where the dreamers meet the grinders, where you get flushed when you don't make it.
Cost of living is high, at least when you don't want to mix with the real working class. There are parties everywhere and every night you can find someone to whisper in your ear that you are the best, in exchange for some superficial love.
And still, there is something that makes you want to stay.
Cities like Dubai and NYC are more than just melting pots of locals and expats. They are centers of finance and logistics. Here dreams are turned into reality faster than anywhere else. Greatness is almost for the taking, to those who are willing to work day and night. Relationships may be lucent, but no success is created without.
NYC is home to the United Nations headquarters, but Dubai harbors the largest UN transport facilities in the world. Over 2 billion people can be reached by air, sea or road. Sure, there are cities that are definitely crazier, wilder, more vivid than these two. But you hardly find any other city with so much global appeal like these two.
Just a funny fact, the most renowned part of NYC is Manhattan, which was founded by the Dutch as New Amsterdam. The most renowned part of Dubai is the Palm, which was created by the Dutch because of their knowledge of water management. Just saying ;)
