The Purrrrfect Pair

The Purrrrfect Pair

They'd been wandering the neighborhood for a month, eating garbage and shying away from people. The mama cat was desperately thin, and the baby was on the brink.

They didn’t go unnoticed. A concerned neighbor managed to capture the pair and brought them to HSHV, where their lives turned around. We sent them to a doting foster home, where they got nourishing food, comfy beds and blankies, and toys at every turn. Most importantly, they were given all the time in the world to adjust at their own pace, and they slowly learned that humans could be trusted.

Fun fact: In the wild, mom and daughter cats tend to stay together for a lifetime. This mama and baby clearly needed each other, so we made them a “Perfect Pair” and required that they not be separated. Once they were not only surviving, but thriving, this rare girl squad (80% of orange cats are male) went up for adoption and found a home together!?Thank you to our incredible network of foster parents whose patient work makes stories like this possible.
