PURPOSE IS THE SEED OF CULTURE

PURPOSE IS THE SEED OF CULTURE

PURPOSE - The Problem You Are Passionate About Solving

When it comes to #inspiring your team and clients, a clear and powerful #purpose is a necessity in engaging your team and clients.

It clearly articulates the problem you are passionate about solving in your world for those you choose to serve. Purpose lies at the crossroads of your passion and their problem.

You should be able to articulate it clearly in 10 words or less and only explains why you do what you do. Not who for or how you do it.

Purpose becomes the seed of culture. It is the first decision-making filter.

Will this serve our purpose? Yes or No?

Purpose create opportunity.

With a clear and powerful purpose, your WHY, it can have many HOWs and WHATs.

When your purpose is clear, you will find a way.

Just like the small plant that can break through asphalt or concrete...it never gives up...it just finds a way through.

So next time, get clear about your purpose and learn how to express it to the world. Engaged teams drive engaged clients and that drives profitability.

“The two most important days of your life are the day you were born, and the day you find out why.”?

  • Mark Twain?

I’ll always remember the day that Davo and I first met – the third most important day :D?

We were both speaking at a state conference and I was standing at the back of the room while he was doing his thang... and then he made me cry right before I had to get up and do my thang!?

I know, what a guy, right??

They were good tears though, because for the first time in my life, someone was able to clearly articulate and explain to me in simply in a way that my unicorn brain was able to get around (in amongst all the sparkles and rainbows and stuff) the answer to the question I had been asking myself for 30 years:?

“Why am I like this?”?

This empowered me for two reasons:?

  1. The process for Human Behaviour.?

Bloody - gold.? I’m a human, I behave – sometimes not admirable, honourably or the way I’d like to.? I’m good at things that aren’t good for me (like eating lots of cake) and I’m successful at things that I don’t want to succeed at (like putting on weight from eating too much cake).?

I was empowered because Dave showed me how to use the same Human Behaviour process that got me to where I was (wearing tight jeans), to where I did want to be (wearing jeans that fit).?

Even though I’d been a PT for 15 years and ‘should have known better’.? #human?

  1. It gave me a reason WHY.?

As a classic ‘Gen Y’, I’ve noticed that my less than ideal situation doesn’t actually have to change in order for me to feel better about it... when I have a solid reason WHY.?

In fact, having a good reason why the very key I need to unlock the next steps required to shift out of it into something greater.?

And as I (we) feel better about our situation... or ‘shituation’ as many a time it feels like, so too does our attitude toward the work required to change it.?

We get to take action from an inspired place of wanting to be better, not a ‘motivated’ place involving personal uppercuts in dismal attempts to launch ourselves out of pain, founded completely on willpower alone to push against our unwanted reality – which never works in the long run.? Believe me, I’ve tried.? Again and again and again.?

So, when might knowing WHY you and your business exists be a really important precursor to living an epic human life with purpose driven people... and could the ability to simply and clearly define it in 10 words or less be the key to getting yourself and your people engaged and in love at work, in life, whilst in your care and beyond??

“If you can’t explain something simply, you don’t understand it well enough.”?

DAVE'S LIVESTREAM

When someone asks you what you do, how do you answer that?

We always answer with WHY we do what we do. That’s what gets us out of bed every morning, yes even on the cold dark mornings…

Purpose isn’t something you create, it’s usually already there, but in many cases, it’s just covered in gunk (we’ll explain that in the Livestream). Or it is devalued when compared to other financial aspects of a business.

In #business, people find meaningfulness from #purpose.

In this week’s live stream we will cover:

1. What is purpose?

2. How to crystalise your purpose

3. How to use purpose to engage people

"When you get out of bed and think about helping other people solve their problems, all your problems seem to disappear."

“Everything in life might not happen for a reason, but you can draw reason from everything that happens in life.”
- A Fergasm.

I don’t know about you, but in order for me to do my life’s best work – or any work at all for that matter – there needs to be a good reason.

Not crap reasons like ‘because I said’, or ‘because it’s the way we’ve always done it’, no.

Reasons that give rise to my personal sense of fulfilment.

Reasons that serve a higher good.

Reasons that are for more than a pay packet.

You too? Cool.

Jump on LIVE with me on FUNDAY Friday 2 December, the first of the FESTIVE season!

We’re gonna talk about:

Passion

Problems, and

Purpose...

… why WHY is IMPORTANT, and how your people get to be more the ‘passion’ component of purpose - not the ‘problem’ part.
