LinkedIn's stated Mission is" "To connect the world's professionals to make them more productive and successful. When you join LinkedIn, you get access to people, jobs, news, updates, and insights that help you be great at what you do."
Is it just another resource in a long list of social networking sites?
Within my 7,000 LinkedIn connections, I see a number of clever motivational posts. Do they "fire you up"?
There is the occasional political post, usually leading to people balking at the post and suggesting the author stick to Facebook or Twitter.
Many are seeking job opportunities...a good place to network in my estimation.
I have read a number of articles stating LinkedIn is a great site for B2B Content Marketing (CM)...and there is a small percentage of CM - including my own. However, a true CM campaign is a major commitment of resources.
How about selling services and wares? Many users are put-off by ads - even though Content Marketing is a sly method of building brand awareness - which may ultimately lead to sales.
Is LinkedIn an opportunity for professional networking? I have made a few contacts with others that are seemingly solid relationships in their infancies.
What is the purpose of LinkedIn? Does it truly make you "...more productive and successful."? I believe it does, but it in a somewhat abstract way.
