POST OF THE WEEK - #SPROUTING
What is sprouting in your life? There is something deeply rewarding about seeding new life and watching the fresh buds unfold. We may not all think of ourselves as gardeners, but every day we make choices that either help or hinder the emergence of something new. We affirm or deny ideas and organizations that are wanting to be born. We nurture or neglect relationships and movements that are trying to grow. And so we can all learn from our green-fingered gardening friends: about preparing fertile soil, watering regularly, protecting tender shoots and creating enabling conditions where new life can flourish.

QUOTE OF THE WEEK - #CIVILISATION
“Civilisations that fail to change are civilisations that ultimately fall”
Quote from Sustainable Frontiers (book)
PODCAST OF THE WEEK - HOLISTIC BUSINESS
Can we transform the dying metaphor of business as a ‘rational machine’ into a new metaphor:?business as a ‘living whole’. Peters and Waterman’s famed bestseller? In Search of Excellence?criticised the ‘rational mode’ of business, while Jan Smuts’ scientific and philosophic treatise?Holism and Evolution?regarded holism as the “necessary antidote to the analytical methods which prevailed”. I began to wonder about its remedial potential for the ailing business theory of the present day. This episode is the fruit of my contemplation along those lines – namely, how holism might be applied as a new framework for thinking about business.
POEM OF THE WEEK - #REGENERATION
The news is good (have you not heard?) / For every insect, beast and bird / The Great Extinction’s turning ’round / The seeds of change found fertile ground
The barren fields are set to bloom / The rivers sparkling crystal clear / New forests rise up from the gloom / The wild calls out for all to hear

The colour’s back in coral reefs / We heed the words of tribal chiefs / The farms are making healthy soil / The sun and wind’s replacing oil
The news is good (don’t you agree?) / Nature’s back, it’s not too late / Across the land, the air and sea / We let the Earth regenerate
