Considering Workvivo releases hundreds of new features a year, you’d expect technology to be at the top of the agenda when it comes to its priorities.?

But Jazz explains that, while the technology is the enabler, companies thinking of adopting new internal communications and engagement solutions should focus on the specific comms issues they want to address, rather than introducing new apps for the sake of it.??

Companies should first make sure they understand their employees (evaluating their access to technology/channels, their communication preferences and experience), he says, and identify the blockers the business needs to overcome when engaging people, before finding a technology that fits the bill.??

Having witnessed 90% adoption of Workvivo and 80% engagement with clients including Ryanair, Jazz feels the secret of the platform’s success is in offering a familiar mobile experience that closely matches those experienced on other social media platforms.?

In Jazz’s words, the experience needs to be simple and easy to understand, not clunky.?

In Ryanair’s case, Jazz says early adoption of Workvivo (90% of employees registered for it within the first six weeks) was fuelled by the app’s familiarity.?

He says the introduction of Workvivo has helped greatly improve employee engagement, particularly with the senior management team. Among the highlights, the airline reported a 30% increase in the number of internal applications for head office jobs, thanks to better visibility of the career opportunities on Workvivo.?

The airline also used a function allowing employees to submit direct questions to the CEO, which immediately proved popular and effective.??
