The Purpose of the Fall
Long before there was a universe, God planned every detail of His created universe, which is still unfolding. You see, He sees things as completed even though to our eyes they are but in an embryo stage or even non-existent. He not only planned each detail of the earth itself but with infinite wisdom He also planned your life and mine before the foundations of the earth were laid.
“In the beginning You laid the foundations of the earth, and the heavens are the work of Your hands.” (Psalm 102, verse 25)
“Having made known unto us the mystery of His will, according to His good pleasure which He hath purposed in Himself: That in the dispensation of the fullness of times He might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth; even in Him: In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestined according to the purpose of Him who worketh all things after the counsel of His own will.”
(Ephesians, Chapter 1, verse 9 to 11)
He planned the moment and place of your birth, the circumstances that were to prevail throughout your life, the trials and tribulations, the joys and sorrows that were to have their part in shaping you according to His purpose, which is to “create you into His image and likeness.” He knows the appointed times and how many ages (yes, I am inferring that there are “ages” beyond this limited life we now live) He will spend to bring you to the perfection He planned for you before the world or ages began.
“Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world [ages] began.” (2 Timothy, Chapter 1, verse 9)
“For He chose us in Him before the creation of the world [ages] to be holy and blameless in His sight.” (Ephesians, Chapter 1, verse 4)
There will come an unbelievable transformation to your understanding, together with a fresh and vivid relationship with God when the revelation of this truth dawns upon your soul, teaching you that God is the author and finisher of ALL THINGS. He is the FIRST and the LAST. He is the ALPHA and the OMEGA. Not only is it true that God was there at the beginning and will be there at the end, but also that God IS the BEGINNING and God IS the END.
“I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End.” (Revelation, Chapter 22, verse 13)
It is distressing that many Christians have taught or believed that God is omniscient (ALL WISE) and yet they accuse Him of the grossest foolishness. Preachers have proclaimed that God is omnipotent (ALL POWERFUL) and in the next breath accuse Him of helplessness. They preach a God of LOVE, or who IS LOVE, and in the next breath accuse Him of grotesque sadism. Many still hold to the teaching that He will allow most of His creation to be condemned to a hell fire for eternity simply for not having accepted Jesus Christ as their personal Saviour.
I once believed this monstrous lie, until God Himself made it crystal clear to my spirit and mind that “The Fall” was His plan, and that He takes full responsibility for it, in fact He planned it, because there is a purpose behind it which He knew before He even created the universe or you or I.
I would like for you to humbly meditate on the following words, have a one-on-one conversation with your heavenly Father, and then tell me what you think God meant when He arranged for these words to be included in the Bible.
“For the creation was subjected to frustration, not by its own choice, but by the will of the one who subjected it, in hope that the creation itself will be liberated from its bondage to decay and brought into the freedom and glory of the children of God.” (Romans, Chapter 8, verses 20 and 21 – New International Version of the Bible) Here is the same scripture but using the King James version of the Bible.
“For the creature was made subject to vanity, not willingly, but by reason of him who hath subjected the same in hope, because the creature itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God.”
We read that God is LOVE. You believe that and I believe that. How is it then that only a tiny percentage of God's creation (children) will make it to heaven and the remainder will be consigned forever to eternal torment in hell? That would infer that Satan is more powerful than God. It is utter foolishness and blasphemous to even suggest that this is truth!
Tell me how you will feel living in and enjoying heaven, while many of your loved ones and friends are suffering eternally in hell? Tell me that you will be filled with glory and joy unspeakable. It is utter nonsense, if you respond affirmatively! Imagine for one moment that you and your wife are living in heaven and two of three of your children or your mother or father are burning forever in hell. Tell me now how you will forever praise and love such a God that permits you to have so much anguish and sorrow in your soul. And be truthful. Think for yourself; you do not need to listen to or be convinced by another believer. Believe God, and speak with Him personally about what I have just written, without asking anyone's permission to do so.
Oh, some of you may respond that there is a place called “purgatory” or whatever where those who did not do really bad things during their lives and were good people at heart will be given a second chance to perhaps make it to heaven one day to join their loved ones. It does not make any sanctified sense my brothers and sisters.
Are we serving an omnipotent, omniscient, omnipresent and loving God or some fearful, vengeful God, filled with wrath and lacking in mercy and grace? Think people, think, but in spirit! Meditate (Selah) before responding with your natural mind.
Forget what you have been taught, forget church tradition and doctrine, at least in the context of this article and its message. You know the stories of the martyr Stephen, Martin Luther, Paul and many many others who dared question accepted man's doctrine and tradition. Listen and read to what Jesus Himself and the apostle Paul had to say to the religious leaders of the day in which they both lived on earth.
“Howbeit in vain do they worship Me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men. For laying aside the commandment of God, ye hold the tradition of men, as the washing of pots and cups: and many other such like things ye do. And He said unto them, Full well ye reject the commandment of God, that ye may keep your own tradition.” (Mark, Chapter 7, verses 7 to 9)
“Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.” (Colossians, Chapter 2, verse 8)
I know that many may brand me a heretic for making the foregoing statements. If the God I love and that loves me will allow my loved ones, who have not accepted His Son in this lifetime, to spend eternity in the flames of hell fire and brimstone, with demons poking at them with pitchforks, then I do not wish to be associated with such a God. These are fairy tales.
Yes, I know you can and will quote me scriptures that clearly state these things, and I will in turn show you an equal or greater number of scriptures that say exactly the opposite. You who believe this lie are interpreting God's word from the “letter” of what is written and not the “spirit.” And what does the Bible say about these two, that is the letter and the spirit of the law? As is required to confirm any truth, here are two witnesses.
“He has made us competent as ministers of a new covenant—not of the letter but of the Spirit; for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life.” (2 Corinthians, Chapter 3, verse 6)
“But now we are delivered from the law, that being dead wherein we were held; that we should serve in newness of spirit, and not in the oldness of the letter.” (Romans, Chapter 7, verse 6)
It is time for all to see that God is GOD, ALL WISE, ALL POWERFUL, UNCHANGING, ETERNAL, glorious in power, fearful in praises, doing wonders!
If God is all wise (omniscient), then there is no possibility of anything happening in all the universe without His knowledge. A God who numbers every hair of every head among the billions of inhabitants who have ever placed a foot on this earth is certainly a God of infinite knowledge. A God who sees every sparrow that falls in death cannot be accused of inattention. He has declared His knowledge of the thoughts and intents of men's hearts, that He knows their thoughts afar off. Nothing is hidden from His eyes, nothing is beyond His knowledge, nothing is out of His presence. The light and the dark are both alike to Him. In Him are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.
“If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there: if I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there.” (Psalm 139, verse 8). This is King David who wrote this Psalm and many other of the Psalms.
We have long believed, and with abundant scriptural backing, that God knows not only the present but also every minute detail of the future. He knows the end of every matter from its beginning. The fact that well over half of the entire Bible deals with prophecy telling in intricate detail the vast array of events still to come should convince anyone that the future is not kept secret from the mind of God.
But it is not sufficient for you and I to believe and possess head knowledge that God knows the future in all its intricate detail. You and I must thoroughly know that every minute detail of the future was planned and purposed by God and that NOTHING can possibly change or alter the plan, for God is immutable (unchanging) as well as omniscient and almighty.
“People swear by someone greater than themselves, and the oath confirms what is said and puts an end to all argument. Because God wanted to make the unchanging nature of His purpose very clear to the heirs of what was promised, He confirmed it with an oath. God did this so that, by two unchangeable things in which it is impossible for God to lie [His Oaths and His Promises], we who have fled to take hold of the hope set before us may be greatly encouraged.” (Hebrews, Chapter 6, verse 16 to 18)
And on this last scripture and note, I will end this article with words voiced several times by one of my favorite movie actors and movies of the same name, Forrest Gump: “That's all I got to say about that.”
In all sincerity brothers and sisters, do not rashly throw away what I have written until you have at least had a serious conversation with your and my heavenly Father and His Son. At the very least, put this article on a shelf temporarily and perhaps, in time and after several life experiences, God will show you as He has shown me and thousands of others His true purposes and ways.
If you are still adamant that what I have written is a lie from the depths of hell, then by all means throw it into the garbage, burn it, do whatever you wish with it. I will not judge you or ever attempt to plead with you. That is the Holy Spirit's role. I am simply our Lord's humble servant. Remember though that many so-called believers or disciples in Jesus' time walked away from Him after He voiced certain truths which they could not accept. Why should I or anyone else expect to be treated differently?
