This year has forced me to stop and reflect deeply on my life, purpose and where I want to spend my energy in the foreseeable future.

After focussing the past years on empowering individuals and entrepreneurs to build strong personal brands for impact, I’m integrating, even more, my passions, interests and skills to contribute to solving one of the most significant problems of our time: the lack of purpose at individual and organisational levels. This, if left unresolved, can ultimately lead to the decline of businesses.


Here are the five key areas most impacted by a lack of purpose

  1. Strategic Efficiency: Without a unifying purpose, decision-making across the organisation can become fragmented and inconsistent. This lack of strategic clarity can lead to inefficiencies, misallocation of resources, and missed opportunities for growth and innovation.
  2. Employee Engagement and Retention: Without a clear and embedded purpose, employees may feel disconnected from the organisation’s goals, leading to disengagement, lower productivity, and higher turnover rates. This can result in a loss of top talent and increased costs associated with recruitment and training.
  3. Trust and Reputation: Inconsistent or unclear purpose can erode trust among customers, investors, and other stakeholders. This can damage the company’s reputation, making it more difficult to attract and retain customers, secure investments, and maintain a competitive edge.
  4. Competitiveness: Companies without a strong, embedded purpose may struggle to differentiate themselves in the market. As competitors who have embraced purpose-driven strategies gain traction, companies that fail to do so may find themselves losing market share and relevance.

Purpose-driven leadership is the force that makes this all possible. Purpose-driven leaders inspire their teams to work towards something bigger than themselves. They understand their business is part of a larger ecosystem, with the power to influence positive outcomes beyond the bottom line.

Our brand should be more than just a reflection of who we are; it should embody what we stand for.

I worked with a client who, despite her business success, felt a deep sense of unfulfillment. Through a series of tailored exercises, reflections and visualisations we uncovered her true purpose: empowering women in her community to become economically independent. This realisation shifted her focus from personal accomplishments to creating opportunities for others to thrive. Her brand evolved from a mere business into a powerful movement dedicated to uplifting women and fostering economic empowerment.

Another transformative experience was when I worked with the management team of a company to align their individual values with the organisation’s ones. This alignment not only strengthened their commitment but also deepened their connection to the company’s mission and purpose.
