Purpose in Business (Article)
What Role Does Purpose Play in Business?
In the absence of a clear direction you can easily get knocked off track by almost anything that comes your way.
Having a deliberate and defined sense of purpose metaphorically acts as your directional compass that determines which direction you’re headed in and will leave you with no doubt as to why you’re doing what you’re doing, and furthermore will allow you to communicate that purpose or vision to others.
Having a deliberate and defined sense of purpose allows you to bring other people together, people who think at the same creative level and causes them to be become part of a cohesive team that is intention driven, with a clear vision and a defined purpose.
Purpose in business is the reason you get out of bed each day, the reason you open the doors, the reason you sit at your desk till late at night, the reason you inspire and motivate others and the reason you make personal sacrifices to achieve that purpose.
If you ever doubt your purpose in business you can be assured that direction has been lost and your vision has begun to fade so the minute this happens stop immediately and take stock of where you are, why you do what you do and why you started this journey in the first place.
It’s very easy to forget when things get tough and it’s even easier to forget when things don’t go well or constant challenges question the viability of your purpose.
Remember, you are the driver of your own bus and you are the creator of your dreams so don’t ever quit on a dream that you believe in. It may not happen overnight but if you believe with all your heart that it will happen – it will happen, don’t ever forget that !
