Pure joy of learning

Pure joy of learning

My respected friend Prof. Amitabh Raturi from Univ of Cincinnati has been running an amazing programme to give back to the community. It is called #backtobusiness, for more than a decade, he and his colleagues would teach, train and engage with people who wanted to come back to college and upgrade their skills. It is a free programme where neither the Univ nor the Professors charge for it. According to Prof Raturi it is the pure form of teaching and learning. Where everyone has come together for the joy of learning, sharing, giving back to the society. So this year when they were planning this module they realised that they can’t do it in physical form due to the pandemic. They recalibrated and made it digital. Once they decided to make it digital, they realised that they can now reach out to many beyond Cincinnati or even beyond USA.

So the Vice Provoust and my friend Prof. Raj Mehta called up his partner univ across continents and engaged them to participate in this amazing programme. The result, we had 60 participants from 20 countries across the world and 10 Professors from Different Countries too.

It was an amazing experiment of learning on a global scale where people all around the world met digitally to learn, to teach , to share their ideas and thoughts. I was privileged to be part of this group and took a module on “ Business Lessons from the streets of the World” Had a great time sharing my stories and life lessons and also listening to some amazing cases from various countries !This was the most global and most diverse class I ever taught.

This was sheer joy and pure form education for all of us.
