Purdue and Other Appearances since the New Year

Purdue and Other Appearances since the New Year

2024 is off to a fast start, and I was glad to begin the year with a visit to Purdue University's West Lafayette campus.

During my time on campus, I discussed slow world growth and the crisis facing development, including with the Executive Forum, Investment Banking Academy, Larsen Leaders, a trade seminar, and the Economic Policy Lunch on debt.

The debt crisis is draining resources from development, and the globalist system favors China and private creditors. This is a major issue which requires urgent international action to resolve, and I highlighted its urgency during both my visit to Purdue and in recent remarks at the William and Mary Washington Center.

During my time in West Lafayette I was very excited to view Purdue's unique research reactor and digital process controls, from which I took a few pictures while the fission process was underway, generating neutrons and energy.

Returning to more urgent issues, I also joined my good friend John Catsimatidis' radio show to discuss the need for decisive action by the United States in order to engage more effectively as China increases its influence in developing countries.

I was also happy to join a fireside chat at The Wilson Center alongside former Senator Roy Blunt, during which we discussed ways in which the United States can expand engagement in global business and infrastructure, for the betterment of all involved.

Finally, I was glad to join Maria Bartiromo on Fox Business to discuss the Federal Reserve's good opportunity to pursue interest rate cuts. With global growth slowing, small businesses will require more capital to weather the economic storm ahead, and the Fed can do much to help by beginning to reduce rates.

There is much to be done this year, and despite rough signals for much of the developing world, I remain committed to urging greater, more decisive action on the critical issues undermining global economic recovery - especially for the world's poorest.

-David
