We are currently seeking a veteran Purchasing Officer for a reputable Australian manufacturing company who have established themselves as industry leaders in the development and fabrication of advanced civil construction machinery.?

Join a dynamic team and work at their purpose-built facility situated in the south-western suburbs of Melbourne, where your expertise will be instrumental in managing purchasing operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and efficiently manage the end-to-end procurement process, ensuring the timely and cost-effective acquisition of materials, equipment, and services.
  • Collaborate closely with internal departments to optimise stock management, maintain appropriate inventory levels, and ensure seamless operations.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, negotiating favourable terms and monitoring their performance.
  • Implement and refine procurement systems, policies, and procedures to enhance efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
  • Coordinate spare-parts sales activities, delivering exceptional customer service and support to our valued clients.
  • Stay abreast of market trends and industry developments, identifying opportunities for process improvements and cost savings.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support production schedules and ensure the timely availability of materials and parts.
  • Maintain meticulous records, generate comprehensive reports, and contribute to data-driven decision-making processes.

Key Skills / Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Purchasing Officer, preferably within the manufacturing sector.
  • Exceptional organisational and communication skills, enabling effective collaboration with internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
  • Strong negotiation skills, with a demonstrated ability to secure favourable terms and pricing agreements.
  • Proficiency in utilising procurement software and systems.
  • Attentive to detail, with excellent analytical abilities for data evaluation and identification of improvement opportunities.
  • In-depth knowledge of procurement best practices, along with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Customer-centric mindset and commitment to delivering high-quality service.
