Punctuality on a Reduced Workweek

Punctuality on a reduced workweek is even more important since you’re working with less time. Arriving late not only has the potential of pushing out all your projects, but it is also disrespectful towards those who arrive on time. Do it enough times and people might develop a negative opinion about you.
The four-day week is a gift and those with decent time management skills become more deserving of it than those without.
Early on my father ingrained in me the importance of arriving early. This has caught many of my in-person meeting attendants off guard, but then again I’d rather arrive an hour early than 5 minutes late. To me punctuality has become important enough to become a character trait and I tend to judge others on how they value my time. Time management is especially important on a four-day week, since your objective is to do in four days what you’d normally get done in five.
We had an event last week and I asked the group whether we should wait 10 minutes for the others to arrive. One lady immediately piped up, suggesting we should start on time, which we did as the latecomers took their seats mid-discussion. This is a pet peeve of mine, since there are those who make the time to arrive early, but then find themselves at the mercy of those who arrive late. It’s not fair to either party.
To earn a four-day week at your place of work, show your employer that you have a handle on time management. At this point we’ve already realised the value of arriving early as opposed to arriving late. Fortunately, there are steps you can take if you are a chronic latecomer and there are always people willing to help you overcome that bad habit. Do you usually arrive early or are you a habitual latecomer?
