Pump it Up for Fintech in Dublin

Pump up the jam, pump it up. While you fintechs stompin’

And the jam (innovation event in Dublin March 6th) is pumpin’.

Now that I have either lost you as a reader or gained your undivided attention, lets chat about Jam. Not the delicious spreadable sort but the Temenos Innovation Jam March 6th 2018 in Dublin, where a host of innovation and banking folks will meet to greet and chat with a host of Fintechs for this excellent one day event encompassing great talks, panels, keynotes and of course pitches.

Last April 2017 I had the chance to attend the London Temenos Innovation Jam, where I got to meet some amazing fintech companies competing to join the Temenos marketplace.

Now for those of you still in the dark as to what this article is all about (and if I’m honest, I might be as well) lets take a quick step back to learn more about Temenos and their marketplace.

Temenos have been supplying core banking solutions for over 20 years to some of the worlds top tier banks and their services to 2000 companies globally. Well they saw an opportunity to help clients interact with fintechs through the addition of a marketplace.

The idea here is one we’ve seen work really well for companies in a separate realm such as Sales Force. Although they may be known best for their CRM services they have in fact built an amazing marketplace ecosystem with their AppExchange market place. They get to work with large swathes of excellent companies, this makes it easier for clients to integrate these solutions into their CRM getting the competitive advantage they need and in doing so help stitch together a complicated ecosystem of value under one roof. As you can guess this is my own opinion on the benefits of marketplaces and understanding of them and it’s for that reason that I’m excited about how a marketplace for Fintechs can help reduce integration costs and time while helping to spur forward some excellent tech startups in this Fintech space.
