Agile Space Industries has secured the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Phase II contract from SpaceWERX. The winning proposal focused on Agile’s Mobile Payload Processing Center (MPPC), a cutting-edge solution designed to bolster mission effectiveness in remote environments. One of the standout features of the MPPC is its expandable capacity, capable of accommodating a diverse set of payloads.
L3Harris’ infrared sensor satellite has passed a preliminary design review for the Space Force’s Medium Earth Orbit (MEO) Missile Warning and Tracking program. The next phase is a critical design review slated for 2024. The government’s Epoch 2 program focuses on sophisticaed payloads that enhanec both tracking and warning capabilities.
Iridium Communications has announced its plan to acquire Satelles in a $115 million deal. The acquisition is projected to result in Iridium’s service earnings surpassing $100 million annually by 2030.
Amazon will begin testing its prototype antenna for Project Kuiper, aimed at providing high-speed satellite Internet worldwide. Six months of rigorous testing will start in April, accompanied by the operation of no more than 200 subscriber terminals concurrently.
The Canadian Space Agency (CSA) has announced the closure of Ottawa’s David Florida Laboratory after operating for 52 years. Experts comment on the shift in the industry that closures like this signify. Particularly when it comes to private companies entering the space tech ecosystem.

Sidus Space, Inc. has finalized its public offering of 1,321,000 shares of its Class A common stock. The offering was priced at $6.00 per share and generated $7,926,000 in gross proceeds. ThinkEquity served as the sole book-running manager.
Boeing has secured a $439 million contract from the U.S. Space Force. The contract is to construct and launch WGS-12, the next satellite for the U.S. Space Force’s Wideband Global Satellite Communications fleet. The satellite is scheduled to be completed by January 2029.
The UK Space Agency has announced the launch of the Connectivity in Low-Earth Orbit (C-LEO) programme. The programme will provide up to £160 million over four years to enable innovation in UK satellite communications technology.
Kurs Orbital has secured $4 million to expedite the commercialization of its groundbreaking satellite servicing technology. The company seeks to become a premier rendezvous and docking technology supplier through its versatile “ARCap” module, designed to seamlessly integrate into any spacecraft bus. The first ARCap module is planned to launch in the fourth quarter of 2025.
SpaceX’s Starship could launch as early as March 14 pending regulatory approval. The upcoming test aims to achieve ambitious goals including the successful ascent burn of both stages and the first-ever re-light of a Raptor engine while in space. SpaceX is putting flight hardware to the test in the actual flight environment, maximizing learning opportunities with each iteration.
The UK Science Minister, Andrew Griffith unveiled the ambitious Space Industrial Plan at Space Comm Expo in Farnborough. The announcement also includes a £250,000 funding injection for Surrey Satellite Technology Ltd (SSTL), a pivotal player in UK satellite manufacturing. Developed collaboratively with industry, the plan serves as a blueprint for fostering innovation, ensuring long-term sustainability, and positioning the UK as a leader in space exploration.
Elve Inc., a pioneer in innovative millimeter wave amplifier technology has secured $15 million in its Series A funding round from a consortium of investors including TomEnterprise Private AB, Green Sands Equity, Yu Galaxy, Cambium Capital, and Lockheed Martin Ventures. The funding injection will fuel Elve’s expansion efforts within the space connectivity market and bolster its manufacturing capabilities.
