Pulling off those bad Layers
How would you look, if I could see,
On the inside of your heart?
Would I be able to tell, the inside you,
and the outside you apart?
Would the outside you serve as a mask,
To disguise what’s deep inside?
Those scars of fears and hopelessness,
Rarely seen by the untrained eye.
But I see you, cause I see through,
The pretend and the make-believe.
I know how it feels when those scars don’t heal,
And the scabs, that those scars leave.
No matter what’s said, those old thoughts in your head,
Replay over and over again.
And if left unchecked, do you know what next?
You’re in self starts a slow descend.
To a place what known as a stronghold,
Fortified by layers of doubt.
Wrapped in dreary, dismal, and somber states,
That exists to keep light out.
But light is a powerful weapon we have,
That darkness can’t comprehend.
He divides asunder the soul and the spirit,
And discerns from down deep within.
Remove from those layers of doubt in yourself,
And be renewed in spirit and mind.
Get away from old habits, and spirits that subtract from,
Your new self, to keep him aligned.
You can, if you think that you can,
The key is to guard what you hear,
Remember his gifts are Love, Power, and Sound Mind,
Shake loose, that spirit of Fear.
Let this permeate deep through your layers,
May it guide you, in beginning of thought,
Every behavior, both the good and the bad,
Is subconsciously or consciously taught.
So now, when I look at you outside self,
Your layers look fully in tacked.
That joy unspeakable, full of glory,
Is still till this day unmatched.
Plant this in the bed of your heart my friends,
That you may eat for the rest of your days.
Just a portion of food, for that inside man,
To God be glory and praise.
