Pull the Chair a Little Closer
This afternoon, thought it prudent to delve into the subject of Self-esteem. It concerns many of us today. More aptly put, Self-esteem relies on your capability to accept or deny your strong and driving spiritual need for the presence of God. There is a credence for us to continually experience God at a level where the issue of Self-esteem is no longer a concern to us. Why? Good question. Meeting our need for God to that degree materializes when we experience His presence so profoundly that we are bolstered and simultaneously gratified because of His unique presence in our life. Rather than thinking of Self-esteem as a noun, think of esteeming ourselves as an action verb. An activity in which we employ. Self-directed praise is a natural, convenient way, apart from God, to assuage the inner tension from our unmet need for the presence of God. Praise toward our self will ultimately result in self-inflicted pride. Your human glory doesn’t have to measure up to the God’s glory. Nor is it conceivable. You can quench your thirst with God by rejoicing in the fact that your humanity does not have to measure up in order to be OK. An intense closeness of God’s presence works exceptionally well than self-esteem. Jesus said in Matthew 19:26..With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” You can do it my friend!
