Thrilled to announce that Eric J. Greenberg's investigative article in Rolling Stone magazine about the case of Mitchel and Bonnie has been nominated for a Pulitzer Prize.
This follows the story being named the 13th most read article in the world in 2023, and listed in Rolling Stone's top 20 stories of 2023.
Hopefully all this attention will cause New York Governor Kathy Hochul to create a multi-agency joint task force that would include the NY State Police, the FBI and the former State Investigator who worked on the case in 2000 and has deep knowledge of it.
Experts say a multiagency task force would be best equipped to follow up on the leads presented in Eric's article, and the new tips that come in since. A multi-agency task force would assist the Sullivan County Sheriff's Office, technically the lead agency for the last 50 years, which has lacked the resources and failed to properly investigate the case since Mitchel and Bonnie vanished in July 1973.
