He is absolutely correct. Those who succeed for real learn from their mistakes. A perfect example of that is in 2009 the Chinese realized the real possibility that a small group of dissenters could overcome the will of the majority by amplifying the effect of illusory truth through a no check-and-balance platform such as Facebook. They rightfully blocked Facebook in their country.

Unless both tech companies and America's government work in tandem to protect against the dissemination of propaganda, racism and violence will spread like an infectuous disease that's not treated because those who hold such views have no qualm about using illicit means to impose their own views onto others.

Trump won't do shit to close the opening that allowed him to get to where he is. That's why Steve Bannon is his right-hand man. The latter's job is to make sure that the track that allowed him to rise to power does not close. Trump is so confident that he will win again that he has already filed documents for his candidacy in 2020. For the survival of our children, if not our own, true patriots of freedom must fight Trump relentlessly because America's Constitution is so far humanity's only hope in regard to showing the way that people of multiple races and religions can live together without annihilating each other.
