Publication Day - Mrs Boots of Pelham Street
Deborah Carr
USA TODAY Bestselling author of historical fiction at HarperCollins (One More Chapter) and author of uplifting romcom series as Georgina Troy for Boldwood Books.
So the day has finally arrived and my second book in the Mrs Boots series, Mrs Boots of Pelham Street has gone out into the world. It's a scary time, but if you want to be published then you can't keep your book to yourself. Thankfully the first reviews are in and I'm especially proud of this one and very grateful to this NetGalley reviewer and all the other brilliant readers, bloggers and reviewers for taking the time to read and review my books.
This book begins in 1892 when Florence and Jesse Boot are about to welcome their third child into their lives and working towards their flagship store on Pelham Street being opened. This was the first store where Florence's flair for making the Boots stores more of an experience than simply a chemist began. She brought in innovative ideas like electric lighting, selling trinkets, toiletries, silverware and of course, the Boots Book-Lovers' Libraries. It's the book where Florence is determined to do her best to prove that despite being a lady of means she can also be a mother and a businesswomen regardless of what society might think.
Mrs Boots Goes To War (book 3) was recently announced and that should be published early in 2021. I'm currently writing An Island At War, a standalone about two sisters separated when one is evacuated to England and the older sister has to remain in Jersey to help her father on their small farm just before Jersey was occupied by the German forces from July 1940 to 9th May 1945.
For now though I'll take a little time to celebrate Mrs Boots of Pelham Street being published. If you'd like to read the e-book it's currently only 99p and you can buy your copy here: https://geni.us/acYctQ
