Many thanks go out to our fellow researchers, professors for their guidance and perseverance in pulling this project together: Ass. Prof. Francesco Pomponi at Edinburgh Napier University Prof. Seeram Ramakrishna at the National University of Singapore colleague and PhD-researcher Ricardo Weigend at Edinburgh Napier University and circular economy consultant Peixun Pey at So Now.
From the extract: (A) City's role in driving circularity forward has been perceived as being increasingly important to achieve sustainable development. For this reason, there is an urgency to understand what a circular city is and how it might be composed.
This research has confirmed the lack of robust circular city case studies. As Singapore has already begun its journey towards circularity, this article examines its current efforts and offers recommendations in the design and implementation of circular economy policies that may be valuable not just for Singapore but also for high-density and rapidly expanding cities around the world that require a new development pathway to emulate.
We plan to offer an online webinar on our findings soon, which will be announced via our social media channels.
