I recently had a former coworker reach out, curious about my transition from the public sector to the private sector. While there's no one-size-fits-all answer to this question, I shared my journey with him, emphasizing the importance of translating public sector experience into valuable private sector skills. It's a challenge we face, as people often misunderstand the roles of professions like Firefighters, Police Officers and EMTs due to media portrayals.
