Public Panic and Its Implications for Business

In our time we're moving between not so simple situations that can easily drag us into public panic. Do business organizations understand that this is already really related to them, or is all their energy still focused only on getting more investors and developers on board?

According to Wikipedia this is the definition of an individual's panic: "Panic attacks are sudden periods of intense?fear?that may include?palpitations, sweating, shaking,?shortness of breath, numbness, or a feeling that something terrible is going to happen.?The maximum degree of symptoms occurs within minutes." So this is what we know as panic in life in general.

If we're talking about the public, meaning an entire country, what happens to the public if it enters a state of public panic? Public panic is not the same as an ordinary person's panic. The public panic has waves going through the various layers, sections, and sides of the population, so it can go on without stopping. It can be a very long process, gathering strength, and erupting in all sorts of directions. Then it can repeat again like waves in the sea that sometimes have all sorts of directions and no order.

Let's take an extreme scenario that could happen if there is a dramatic rise in public panic: there will be an inability to manage people, to do anything with them, because they don't know where they are headed or what motivates them. People will simply have a general lack of direction. So our main concern is to provide people with a solid framework for their life.

The main thing about panic is that we feel we're not in good hands, like when the public doesn't feel that someone is running things. There is a lack of management or lack of direction; a lack of a guiding hand - this is what leads to panic. The impact of this can provoke people in all kinds of directions, and then the flood of frustrations and claims come floating to the top as always.

Of course humans don't like being in situations of uncertainty: either an inability to see the future clearly, lack of feeling that something is guiding us or driving us, not from behind like in the current situation, and not in front either. We don't see clear boundaries and restrictions, and then we lack the forces that stabilize us.

Let's take an extreme scenario that could happen if there is a dramatic rise in public panic: there will be an inability to manage people, to do anything with them, because they don't know where they are headed or what motivates them. We're living in a time when uncertainty is very great. I've stressed all along how this situation will be related to everything in our lives (work, economy, health, social, family, etc.), because now everything depends on everything. While this is not yet fully visible to us, it is the trend that we need to prepare ourselves for. An integral global world not only in the commercial and financial sense, but a vast network of communication that we're all part of.

Another thing that has positive potential in a public panic, is that the leadership, or the organization will take care of the employee wholeheartedly. Because once the management of an organization (no matter what it is engaged in), manages to instill in its employees the same feeling of security out of all the temporary uncertainty, then they have managed to win over their hearts and the employees agree to take over decision-making. They become fully trusted partners with the fate of the company in their hands, and this provides them with a deep sense of fulfillment.

So dear leaders - right now you have an opportunity to create this change in your company. Leaders can leverage the general uncertainty in the exact opposite way, to boost employee confidence and their identifying with the brand, which will provide them with a sense of fulfillment. Or in other words, that will allow them to be the best employees they are, because they have a stronger motive beyond the high salary and great perks - they have confidence. This genuine sense of security; a sense that you can truly get through anything together no matter what. This is precisely what everyone is looking for even if they don't have the words to express it. And it cannot be bought. You'll have to train yourself and continue to train the employees yourself. Over a process of three months you'll already start to see positive changes, which can include stakeholder value increasing, new investors coming aboard, and HRs remembering why they love what they do so well - taking care of everyone.

If a company wants to boost the monetization of its paid campaigns, even hiring the #1 copywriter in the world won't help. If you want your campaigns to deliver the results you seek - you need to consciously invest in human connection. This is not about sushi, DJ's and cocktails. It's about tapping into the most vital source of positive energy in your company - the power of human connection.

The integral method is the only method in the world that is specifically suited to this time. It's not owned by anyone, but is based on examples from nature that we have simply overlooked all this time. This is about investing in human connection, based on the understanding that it's the key to making everything better.

For example, if a company wants to boost the monetization of its paid campaigns, even hiring the #1 copywriter in the world won't help. If you want your campaigns to deliver the results you seek - you need to consciously invest in human connection. This is not about sushi, DJ's and cocktails. It's about tapping into the most vital source of positive energy in your company - the power of human connection.

Organizations deeply invested in this process a) see a very clear path forward, b) experience an overall increase in motivation and production, c) have people who are experiencing far less fear, stress and anxiety.
