Public Intelligence will fix the world!

Today there's a global debate around how to design new intelligent systems ethically and responsibly! The rate of innovation is so fast but even regulatory and governing bodies are behind the pace of technology.

Technology-driven change takes time to adapt and there are over 7 billion people on our planet who are impacted by every new technology or change we introduce today - directly or indirectly.?And tomorrow the situation could potentially get worse with whole a host of technology converging and resulting in even more complex systems to work with!

Einstein said “Everything should be made as simple as possible but not simpler” and to be honest the answer to this problem is very simple!

The answer to the problem is people!?

People are the only consumers and are the global customers of every innovation out there today. We need to take a democratic step to voice how innovations should add value to our lives, our society, and our future.

A holistic, balanced, and sustainable approach to innovations of today and for the future is needed. People need to drive an overarching principle that is open, long-term, and empowered by people for the people and for the planet.?

It's time to collectively acknowledge and to take a step back from rapid innovation. Instead of reacting we need to take a proactive step to accountably design innovations and reverse any damage already done.

Innovations are absolutely critical for our civilisation but we need to think of the side effects that we haven't considered and take a unanimous decision today so that:

  • Our future can thank us and can ensure robots will not take our jobs.
  • A decision to safeguard and create more skills and opportunities for all of us,
  • Our planet will be cleaner,
  • We won't be living with cyber insecurity
  • And most importantly, we will have our trust back in technology again!

AI Tech UK's journey and knowledge of working with leading experts have brought forward some fascinating and distressing discoveries about?the use of technology in the world today. Where it is:?Uncensored, Unfiltered, Unregulated, this?current application of AI presents multifaceted challenges to almost every element of life as we know it.?

?To work towards addressing these issues, we have been developing a project called Public Intelligence.??And have created a framework for ''Accountable Innovation'', which focuses on protecting global intelligence and human rights by enabling practical ways to re-design innovations with accountability.

What is Public Intelligence

It's a set of principles to safeguard human skills, our planet and create accountable innovations and sustainable ecosystem around us.

Public Intelligence is a practical framework for accountable, innovative people-driven principles that will be the foundation for future innovations. These universal principles of innovation are crafted to practically embed these open proposed principles in the design process. These principles enable;

  1. Safeguarding human rights?by bringing awareness of our intellectual human capabilities
  2. Giving?every innovation a fair opportunity to be people-centric by re-designing accountably when it upgrades!?
  3. Designing innovation with the purpose to augment and not to replace humans
  4. Providing preventive measures to create seamless and sustainable innovations for the existing ecosystems to minimise displacements and disruptions.
  5. Evaluating the risk to provide assurance that innovations are designed for safe, ethical, and inclusive adoption right at the design stage.

Benefits:

Some of the large-scale benefits of our proposed practical tool will work towards minimising the following threats:?

  • AI ethics -?the long debate of ethical adoption of AI will be resolved by adopting ethical best practices of innovation in general
  • Climate change -?reducing?Mass-automation, relaxing the pace of the innovation cycle, thinking long-term and designing products-build-to-last.?
  • Unemployment -?Reducing Tech-displacement, Governing?Globalisation, loss of skills and reducing the impact on the people-ecosystem
  • Hardships -?minimising Global?Debt, improving Social-Economic balance and better lifestyle?
  • Reducing?Stress & Anxiety - Especially with the younger generations
  • Syncing Education - to meet the current digital demand be ready for industry 4.0.??
  • Reducing?hyper-augmentation thereby retaining human natural intelligence

Why do we need Public Principles?

We need foundational principles to make innovations accountable and help every business, start-up, researcher, and designer to think of the big picture! Even the biggest companies such as Apple, Facebook, Tesla, and Amazon started with the same challenges such as budget restrictions and time limitations. What they didn't have was consideration to the ecosystem around us and global customer requirements. Protecting the public and the planet is often not in the initial priority list of design requirements and this is true for most rapid innovations today.

Our Public Intelligence framework will practically help designers robustly embed people and planet-centric principles in the early stages of design!?So instead?of reacting after production, we can proactively make sustainable design decisions!?

So what can the Public Intelligence framework offer?

Here are some examples:

  • Farmerless farming ( Robotics), Driverless driving ( AI), Managerless management ( AGI), Builder-less building (3D printing) and Teacherless teaching ( Extended Reality) are some of the examples of trending disruptions to the future of our society.?These innovations have no right to replace human. The proposed model will guide the innovators to consider facts such as how many driverless cars can one person own? How many robots should hotels own? What is their main purpose with these innovations??
  • Hotels don't own the maids or cleaning staff, so if hotels can replace staff with robots, then that is unethical and socio-economically unsustainable.?
  • Apple and other electronics brands creating their own unique versions of chargers and adapters for every model will be challenged on the grounds of sustainability.
  • Lastly, if AI is used to search for more oil and rare resources such as plutonium or uranium, this could lead to unwanted outcomes. The framework will ensure these unforeseen risks are managed in the design process.

Public Intelligence is a Framework to bring:

  • Public awareness of our rights, skills, and intelligence
  • A people-powered open platform of holistic principles
  • A gateway that allows us to build trustworthy and accountable innovations?to build a better planet and happy living for everyone!

As we are living in a digital world driven by profit to make everything cheaper, faster, and easier. YOU, ME and EVERYONE are the customers and consumers of these latest technologies and products. The market creates a good impression and presumption that "This is PERFECT for you" but in reality, the digital economy is a high-value dynamic business and democratic design is not at the heart of product development.

Our planet and we are paying the price when products are made cheaper, faster and convenient!

Imagine all the large cargo shipped across continents with huge labour effort, and compromised CO2 emissions just to make products cheaper.

We are creating exponential waste in the form of outdated expensive phones, chargers, and accessories. We are piling up debt and adding to climate change challenges every time we upgrade our products to the newer version.

Its easier to ask Google "What is 7 + 9" and if this becomes a habit and a culture in 10 years, we will have a generation that will lose the capability to rationalise.

Our intelligence is what makes us Human!

Public Intelligence aims to take action today to change the world of tomorrow!

A wake-up call to stop sleepwalking and accept the technology as it is.

Time to comprehend real global risks as a result of our actions, or the lack of!
