Psychology, Ancient As Mankind! - 2
In my previous article I stated as the field of psychology is very ancient but the problem was not known and later was given other names, for the field was enmeshed in other fields.
As with the reductionist and narrow view of humans when it comes to what constitutes them and which fields do give an all encompassing definition of them, some will claim it is the the field of sociology, perhaps history, psychology, similar fields and all you must do to know what humans are, is to simply delve into braches within such fields to get a full analysis of what 'Humans and the human condition' is; personality, which by just focusing studying it some scholars claim that by doing so we have taken humans autonomy away and crippled them from exerting efforts to develop, transform, perfect and work on themselves, much similar to what Freud have done with the field of psychoanalysis 'You are evil and there is nothing you can do about' in the same manner 'Your personality is like this and there is nothing to do about it'. By doing so we pressure people and condition them to fit into precreated and ready made moulds that there is an agenda behind it, for humans are complex beings and we can not say 'Personality is Your Destiny', 'Personality definitions, created by whom, and for what purpose and agenda?
This is similar to how 'Anti Psychiatrist Movement' define today's 'Medical and Pharmaceutical Model' so many inventions and from the moment you step in the premises be it a hospital, pharmacy or whatever, everything is in its can, cartoon, container or whatever and without anyone really listening to you or examining you as if a 'Supermarket' you walkout with tons of lethal medications in professions that regard you as a customer that must but as much products from their suppliers because they will be getting bonuses in various ways whether it is 'Monetary or non Monetary'.
Professor Lionel Tiger claims that the human brain is responsible for believing in God.
This believing brain that is in a constant search for God and truth 'God is the highest truth that man arrives at', is also behind the existence off psychology since beginning of times, for they wanted to better understand themselves, God, people, their surroundings and to establish a place for themselves in this vast universe.
Whoever knows himself, knows his Lord.
Knowledge of self is the key to the knowledge of God, according to the saying: "He who knows himself knows God," [hadith] and, as it is written in the Koran, "We will show them Our signs in the world and in themselves, that the truth may be manifest to them."
In the coming articles I will be discussing how psychology was always there since God created mankind.
There was always a battle and quest within man 'To know themselves', in the holy book Qur'an we witness this in the journey pursued by many mentioned prophets as they get unsettling feeling of being in a state of fragments, pieces and not whole.
The question begins with 'There is a real God, worthy of all praise and worship' other than this utter chaos and ugliness that surrounds me and everyone. The yearning of finding Allah/God that each prophet and messenger went on, represents human beings eternal struggle 'Who Am I?!'

This is apparent the story of prophet Abraham
75. Thus did we show Ibrah?m (Abraham) the kingdom of the heavens and the earth for him to be one of those who know (have Faith) with certainty
76. When the night covered him over with darkness he saw a star. He said: "This is my lord." But when it set, he said: "I like not those that set."
77. When he saw the moon rising up, he said: "This is my lord." But when it set, he said: "Unless my Lord guides me, I shall surely be among the people who went astray."
78. When he saw the sun rising up, he said: "This is my lord. This is greater." But when it set, he said: "O my people! I am indeed free from all that you join as partners (in worship, with Allah).
79. Verily, I have turned my face towards Him Who has created the heavens and the earth, as Han?fa (Islamic Monotheism, i.e. worshipping none but Al-lah Alone), and I am not of Al-Mushrik?n (the ones that associates partners with Allah, in worship)".
80. His people disputed with him. He said: "Do you dispute with me concerning Allah while He has guided me? I fear not those whom you associate with Him (Allah) in worship. (Nothing can happen to me) except when my Lord (Allah) wills something. My Lord comprehends in His Knowledge all things. Will you not then remember?Holy Qur'an, Sura Al- Anaam (the Herds): 75-80.
The prophets and messengers represented the most intelligent, complete, perfect, whole beings, uncorrupted, sophisticated, eloquent and best among their people, thus when read about them we are not dealing with the every day ordinary man and woman, but beings of unique characteristics, virtues and characters.
The holy books and inspirations that mankind receive from Allah/God is him explaining to them who they are, what is best for them and how to live a life that represents and is worthy of them being the most honorable creature which Allah/God had created, and that he created them for higher and greater purposes
Worship
Doing great deeds and refraining from evil
Guiding people to him
and God entrusted them of constructing the earth.
This terrestrial life to man serves as a platform either for elevating his status over that of angels, should he abide by the divinely prescribed rules and regulations, or for debasing his self lower than the rank of animals, should he turn away from truth and dazed and lost wander aimlessly amid the innumerable and awesome wonders of creation. Man is the crown of God’s act of creation. God created man by His own Hands and in His own image. (Sahih Muslim) For man and his principled assignment as vicegerent everything else on earth has been created, and to him and the expediency and services of his mission everything else has been subjected.
