Psychologist Voice for UX.

Psychologist Voice for UX.

Use your "Psychologist Voice" to conduct effective UX research moderation, advises Dan Berlin. Being fully present and attentive to participants during research is important, and we can achieve this by focusing on our voice. By consciously using a soothing and even tone, we can put participants at ease and keep ourselves focused. Berlin recommends using our "Psychologist Voice" to probe for root causes of participants' answers and recommends five components to keep in mind while chatting with participants: pace, volume, timbre, emphasis and pause, and inflection. To act like a psychologist, Berlin advises using techniques such as probing, having participants answer their own questions, and practicing quiet patience to get more data. By continually focusing on our vocal techniques, we can stay in the moment and be reminded to be the "Experience Psychologist" who uncovers the root causes of participants' unmet needs. #PsychologistVoiceUXResearch
