A PSYCHOLOGIST SHOULD NOT FALL ASLEEP DURING YOUR SESSION!
Dr. Richard Geist was in his late seventies. Many people have been retired for YEARS by then. It's one thing, if you are up to the task, but entirely another when a patient is pouring out their heart and soul to you - only to look across at their doctor sound asleep in his chair!!! Even when I went to him with my other psychologist Jim for couples therapy we both noticed Dr. Geist nodding off in his chair!!! Patients are paying this man $300.00 out of pocket, as he doesn't take insurance for him to zone out in his chair.
And even when he was awake I always felt like I was talking to a brick wall!! I told him repeatedly that he was bread crumbing me by only allowing me 30 minutes a session when he was giving ALL HIS OTHER PATIENTS the standard 50 MINUTES!!! He would look at me with a blank stare and say "I give new patients 45 minutes" - What the hell did that mean???????????? First I was going to him for many years!!!! So, I was NOT a new patient! Second, he was giving me LESS TIME than his new patients!!! He did NOT make ANY SENSE AT ALL when he talked!!!
He sat there, trying desperately to stay awake in stone cold silence!!!! My drinking kept increasing. And I didn't feel heard or understood!!! He should have RETIRED when he reached the age of 70!!! But I read somewhere that psychologist never retire! They just die in their chairs!
