This comprehensive and multi-disciplinary assessment, spanning from August 2020 to January 2021, sheds light on a program that has not only surpassed expectations but has been independently validated as a transformative force for positive change in conflict-affected regions.

?At its essence, this program seamlessly integrates Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) with peacebuilding, accentuating the significance of community partnerships. The independent evaluation goes beyond mere statistics, offering a compelling narrative of improved mental well-being and resilience. Join us as we explore the groundbreaking strides unveiled in this report and the promise they hold for communities seeking independent, impactful support.

?Enhanced Mental Well-being: The program has made significant strides in reducing symptoms of depression, anxiety, and stress, marking a remarkable decrease in PTSD indicators. These positive outcomes remain statistically significant, transcending various demographic variables.

?Strengthening Resilience: The Vulnerability to Violent Extremism Scale (VVES) has recorded a substantial decrease in vulnerability to violent extremism, accentuating the program's capacity to nurture resilience.?

Furthermore, the initiative, which benefited over 35,000 beneficiaries across six communities in Borno State, effectively engaged community leaders and stakeholders. It facilitated capacity-building workshops, peace meetings, school-based educational programs, and the creation of vibrant peace murals celebrating diversity and shared values. The program nurtured peer support through group therapy sessions led by adept counselors and employed expressive therapies, such as psychoeducation, narrative approaches, art, dance, psychodrama, music, and storytelling, to inspire self-expression. Operating as a community-based initiative, it employed a flexible toolbox approach to tailor support to the unique needs of each group, ensuring adaptability and personalized assistance.

This collaborative synergy between Neem Foundation and King's College reinforces the transformative potential of integrated peacebuilding and MHPSS initiatives in addressing the mental health needs of communities affected by conflict.
