Psalm 23: The Verse By Verse Musing Of A Startup Founder

1 The LORD [is] my shepherd; I shall not want.

The Lord himself is my companion, associate, founder, so I will not run at a loss or be less than when I started.

2 He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.

I enjoy pleasant outcomes and outstanding results because I follow his leading. Despite the storm, I experience overwhelming stability.

3 He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.

As I engage business deals from the standpoint of justice, fairness, and equity, with the aim of displaying the culture of the kingdom, I come alive as I discover my divine purpose.

4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou [art] with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.

When turbulent times come, as they always will, I choose to operate from a standpoint of peace while celebrating the Lord's sustenance, comfort and studiously noting the lessons and adjustments for the next level wrapped up as darkness.

5 Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.

Though there will always be messy boardroom politics and fierce industry competition, I am confident in the Lord's ability to empower and fill my mind with divine ideas that will position and cause my brand to shine, attract patronage which in turn will lead to profit and impressive earnings for our stakeholders, as I walk in love.

6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.

We live out our culture of kindness, thoughtfulness and excellence through all our touch points, no matter how big we become. An example of the life of Christ in us.
