Prysmian lands Borssele offshore wind cable contract
19 June, 2018
Cable specialist Prysmian Group has won a contract to supply cable links for the Borssele III and IV offshore wind farms in the North Sea.
Awarded by Van Oord Offshore Wind, Prysmian will be required to design, manufacture, supply and test approximately 175km of 66kV three core cables for the project.
All the cables for the two wind farms will be produced at Prysmian’s centre in Pikkala, Finland and will be delivered in early 2020.
Once operational, the Borssele projects will have a total installed capacity of 680MW and will use 77 of MHIVestas’ V164-9.5MW turbines.
