A Provocation To All Of Us

Impact - Our Time Has Come

Who’d have thought that it would take a global pandemic and an economic crisis to help us really see where Impact’s future lies.

This is exactly what we needed to galvanise us and to draw us together as one organisation, one community, one planet. To see more clearly what needs to be done and to recognise our true potential.

The economic cycle is broken, or at least disrupted for a while. Our usual way of being has been changed – irreversibly and forever, probably for the better.

The search for different answers will begin and a new kind of normal will quickly take shape.

As the old ways of doing things start to breakdown under the pressure of a global crisis, we must also be mindful of the new ways of doing things that are starting to break through.

Enforced social isolation has dramatically accelerated virtual working.

Meetings, team working, innovation sessions, coaching, brainstorms, briefings and training, all of which were traditionally conducted as face to face encounters, are now firmly rooted in the digital world.

Cleaner air under newly created no fly zones are prompting conversations about the possibilities of reducing costly business travel whilst cutting atmospheric pollutants.

Working the virtual space saves money and it might also save the planet.

Dialogue is happening around how a social crisis has created whole scale changes in behaviour and how a new model could also be applied to the climate crisis.

Replace “no social contact” with “no diesel cars” or “self-isolation” with “environmental restoration”.

COVID-19 comes on the tail of record levels of rainfall, hurricanes, bush fires, droughts and ice melts.

This new agenda for change is emerging, gaining traction and it is raising questions that will never go away.

Some companies are close to collapse. Their business models are revealed as unsustainable. They rely on outdated, single service activity, easily exposed and disrupted.

To survive, they resort to redundancy and pay cuts. They screw their suppliers. The gig economy is exposed for what it is, slave labour based on cancelling workers rights.

All of this plays into our hands. Those are not organisations worth working for.

We espouse leadership development as our core offering - but leadership for what ?

Our practice is rooted in sustainable organisational and cultural change.

Our expertise was hard won in hundreds of custom designed solutions, applied to multiple contexts in all sectors.

We have built an enviable resource of approaches, ideas, methodologies, intellectual property and rigorous practice.

We have developed and inspired scores of talented facilitators, designers and coaches who are steeped in adventurous spirit and optimism for a better world.

Our roots in nature and the great outdoors present a contemporary solution to wellbeing and personal development.

We are building even stronger relationships with a host of clients globally, who are coming in closer to hear what we can do.

Now is the time to step forward, confidently and in a determined manner.

We are far better than we know and our expertise is needed like never before.

The world needs leadership that embraces a new way of thinking and a new way of working.

Leadership that liberates brilliance and harnesses that brilliance to drive change and transformation.

Regenerative leadership that supports sustainable innovation to build restorative environmental business practice.

By working as a creative change agency, bringing to bear all of our expertise in digital and face to face learning . . .

By drawing strength from our global footprint, our multicultural demographic and our generational diversity . . .

. . .We can now join up the dots. We can see the bigger picture that is rapidly forming before our eyes.

We can step confidently into a wider, more purposeful future.

All of our experience to date comes together to pull us into this next phase of our work.

 Important work.

Work that we can do, work that our clients will be asking for and work that the world needs now.

Our time has come.

Are you with me ???

Absolutely agree. This is a forced reset which we have needed. Will be an interesting time ahead as we explore the avenues of reinvention. Nicely said Dave
