A new article was posted last night in Oz at about 5pm EST. It concerns navigating the minefield of IT provision and the requirements for careful and considerate planning for constant change and accommodating students with SEN fairly, equally and equitably.
It argues the case for Universal Design for Learning and the requirements to ensure that ALL students, trainees and colleagues are included in the planning and implementation of IT.
Another article was posted earlier this week concentrating on the MANY features of MS Word, the exciting and empowering add-ins and plug-ins from third party developers and Microsoft. A big THUMBS up UP to the R&D team at Microsoft for developing such great resources to empower learners to show their stuff … and shine.
MS Immersive Reader is also well worth checking out as it is high quality software with Text-to-Speech amongst other much needed functions for those in situations (AND in many less wealthy and ill-resourced) countries) where IT is a must for students to understand, use effectively. It will help them study, research and further their quest for knowledge in a fast paced competitive world.
- Have a quick read and check out my forty + articles. Many cater to:
- Educators
- Speech and Language Patholoigists
- Occupational Therapists
- IT Technicians in education and industry/commerce
- Parents
- Students at University, TAFE or Academies
Software includes Ghotit Reader and Writer V9.2 (now with more features and a 30-day trial); ClaroRead Plus V8 with a brand new feature in the fantastic Pro version; Grammarly; Ginger; Freeware such as the excellent MyStudyBar including reviews of ATBar, Balabolka and Let me Type; a great Timetabling Program - ideal for students with SEN); the C-Pen Reading Pen range of small but nifty reading devices and a host of education based articles to help busty Principals cope with the every expanding field of AT and IT. It can be very frustrating, expensive and at times, a waste of resources.
There's an article on that subject too, if you scan down the list of articles - "Like" them if you consider them worthy. Any comments are ALWAYS fully appreciated and constructive criticism taken on board.
My best regards and best wishes, Gerry.
