Providing technical support in NYC: A Case study

Providing technical support in NYC: A Case study

In June, two of Tell’s team members were live from New York City for the @XCAD #Watch2Earn billboard launch in Times Square. With special guests such as Joe Weller and big names such as KSI and Mr Beast backing the event, we knew it would be huge!

“XCAD Network is a global platform harnessing the power and value of Content Creator audiences via Creator tokenization, allowing viewers to earn rewards and govern Creator’s decisions via a plugin which works directly on YouTube.” -?https://xcadnetwork.com/

The Job

In conjunction with @Newwaveswhodis, we provided remote production solutions, delivering a one-hour live stream culminating in XCAD’s billboard reveal. We operated as a technical partner to XCAD, which meant we liaised with several NYC-based technical providers on their behalf to ensure the event delivery went smoothly and met expectations. We had team members stationed both onsite for the live stream and back at the remote production centre in Hudson Yards.

The image is taken facing the busy Times Square with hundreds of people walking around and lots of huge monitors on the sides of building broadcasting different images. In the centre, in a sectioned off area, two presenters for the event face the camera. The XCAD billboard is in the background to the left.

The Team

For this event, we flew out two crew members, a technical producer and a technical project manager.

As our project manager, Kat was responsible for managing the production before and during the stream, meaning she was stationed live in Time Square, right on the edge of the action. Meanwhile, our technical producer, Chris, played a vital role and ensured all technical aspects of the show ran seamlessly in the Hudson Yards studio.

We pride ourselves on having an adaptable and resourceful team. During the production, Kat and Chris could fill in any aspects of the production team that opened up along the way. As a company, we like to have a diverse portfolio, meaning we can apply ourselves to various jobs. It’s for that reason that we thrive on projects such as these.

There are two large monitors mounted on the wall broadcasting the live event. There are 5 smaller monitors sat on the desk surrounded by technical equipment. There is an empty leather desk chair facing the camera.

The Outcome

We, once again, received high praise from our clients regarding the expertise and efficiency of our team.

“[Thanks for] being a superstar at the event!”

This event for @XCAD, executed alongside New Waves, has further expanded our international portfolio, strengthening our network and reputation overseas.
