Proven Strategies for Becoming an AWS Authorized Instructor (AAI)

Cloud Computing is skyrocketing. Companies need more well-trained cloud professionals to support their business. So many managed cloud services are offered by Cloud Service Providers (CSPs). AWS alone has over 200 fully featured services.

How can a student learn and upskill quickly? How can a student put those pieces together? How can the student apply the new skills to the student use cases in the real world?

Generally, there are two learning options: Self-pace training or Instructor-led courses.

• Self-paced Online/offline training class is valuable for students who prefer to learn at their own pace and are comfortable with self-guidance.
• Instructor-led Courses work best for students who prefer a structured learning pace with instructor support and real-time interaction with the instructor and students.

I love self-paced training and have had great success using many courses. However, I see many gaps:

• Training content got outdated quickly
• The content is too generic
• Lack of real-time interaction

Instructor-led courses can address those concerns, and Amazon Web Services (AWS) offers many Instructor-led courses, both onsite or online.

Now we face new challenges:

• AWS needs lots of instructors to deliver those courses around the globe
• Instructors need to be well-equipped to deliver the courses
• IT professionals who love to teach and mentor others on AWS do not have a clear path to start applying and preparing to be an AWS instructor.
