Prove ME Wrong

Brother versus sister fights are the best. They are passionate, emotional, sarcastic, and usually both sides are wrong about a few points that they are attempting to make during their argument. My sister and I had some really good ones back in the day. We don't argue much anymore, because I think she just came to the conclusion I am always right, so what is the use in arguing (wink, wink @ Mella) anyway? In real life, apart from my fantasy world of always being right, I think we both grew up and realized that the real fight is within ourselves and not with each other.
I recently witnessed a virtual disagreement online between a brother and sister, whom I knew very well in their youth. Ironically, the disagreement was about a post that the sister made public which stated winning the battle of your mind is about not allowing your mind to self-sabotage your life. The exact quote stated, "Self sabotage is real af. Don't let your mind destroy yourself." I agreed with her 100%, but her brother believed that sometimes allowing your mind to self-sabotage some situations is the best way to learn from life.
I will let you all debate about who you think is right, but the real message from My Great Aunt EDNA for leaders is if you are going to be a successful leader, you cannot afford to allow your mind to self-sabotage your efforts. Self sabotage is real af, and so is the fact that there are multiple voices living in our minds. There is a real voice that says, "You can do all things through Christ Jesus who strengthens you," and there is another real voice that says, "That sounds crazy. You can't do anything, and people don't even like you, let alone Christ."
A leader who operates in the Spirit of Excellence must expect opposition. Some leaders miss the fact that the opposition will expose itself internally, therefore they do not prepare for it. They have an external locust of control, and establish walls of defense in preparation for external attacks; however, the special operations of desecration manifest more often internally. The late responding defense will often be visible in an external manifestation, usually directed at those who are not deserving of the attacks.
Successful leaders who prepare to battle the internal mind living within, must wake up everyday with an attitude that says, "Prove ME wrong." The ME that says, "I can do all things," is equally as real as the ME that says, "That sounds crazy." Both voices are valid and powerful, and when the choice is made as to which one you are trying to prove wrong, the external manifestations of your choice become as solid as any naturally occurring solid mass or aggregate of minerals or mineraloid matter; it is now set in stone.
Here is the good news. Stones can be broken, and even grounded into powder and blown away into the breeze of a Jamaican ocean. If you are a leader that has made the choice to prove the ME wrong that says, "I can do all things," but desire to prove the other ME wrong, begin to break up what you initially set in stone. The thought patterns can be broken daily by making verbal proclamations to yourself, and then taking real steps daily that align with your proclamations. Celebrate proving ME wrong, and tell yourself about it.
