A male patient was having 15 mm Rt mid ureteric stone.
Consultant Urologist had planned for urs but during the procedure he couldn’t reach up to the stone with ureteroscope but somehow kept dj stent.
When the urologist discussed with me that due to co morbidity of the patient surgery is on high risk and ESWL is the only option remains. It was a very big responsibility on me and I took this opportunity to show my worth, value and ability.
During the ESWL treatment the safety switch was activated due to high body pressure of the patient on the below, as he was a bit obese and the only option was to reduce the depth of the stone, so I used cloth packs under the patient’s body, to reduce the body pressure.
Location of the stone was between upper to lower SI joint (mid ureter) so, ESWL should be done with very selective parameters like more number of the shock waves with high frequency, high energy, and to keep below in more tense.
I performed the ESWL successfully.
After one week of the follow up, patient was stone free.
ESWL require much advanced skills and patience for desired outcome.

I am also very grateful to Dornier and their entire team for their great cost-effective, non-invasive invention of the Century.
