"Empower DC has consistently stood up for the needs of DC communities most impacted by gentrification and displacement."

- Dr. Sabiyha Prince, President, Empower DC Board of Directors

Dear?Friends,

Since its founding in 2003,?Empower DC has consistently stood up for the needs of DC communities most impacted by gentrification and displacement.?I’m proud to have been part of that work since joining as a member 18 years ago - and now, to serve as the?President?of Empower DC’s?Board?of Directors.?

As a native Washingtonian, anthropologist, and author, I’m particularly proud of the fights for Ivy City’s Alexander Crummell School and the Barry Farm historic landmark – which validate the rich, local history of this city we call home.

We have plenty of work to do, but I’m confident knowing that Empower DC is at the forefront of progressive social and economic change in DC.?You make it possible for us to do this important work. And for that we are grateful.?

Please help us reach our goal of raising $10,000 in our fall?Empowerment?campaign.?Your donation?will support Empower DC’s grassroots outreach throughout public housing, door knocking to connect people facing eviction with resources, organizing to address environmental justice issues in Brentwood - and more. With?your donation, you are part of winning real improvements for residents and communities whose needs have gone unaddressed for far too long.?

With appreciation,?

Dr. Sabiyha Prince

President, Empower DC?Board?of Directors

PS. Our fall Empowerment campaign will only run through October 14.

Please make your donation today and join others in making this powerful work possible!
