Proud to be at Salesforce: Rep. John Lewis At Connections

Extremely proud of Salesforce right now -- we opened up our keynote for our big event (Connections) in Atlanta, with >5,000 people in the room and lots more watching live, with an interview with Congressman John Lewis of Georgia about "Equality".

Instead of any commentary, here's my favorite quotes.

On speaking up for change:

"When we see something that is not right not fair not just, someone being discriminated against based on their race, their color, their nationality, their sexual orientation, we have a moral obligation to speak up and do something about it."

On corporate responsibility:

"A company like you has a major role to play in equality. Businesses must be a headlight, not a taillight, and must point the way."

And my other two favorite lines:

"Hate is a too heavy burden to bear – we must lay it down and just love everybody."
"Believe in yourselves. Believe in your friends, your coworkers you neighborhoods, and never give up, never give in."

In the photo at the top, the guy on the left is Scott McCorkle, the CEO of Salesforce Marketing Cloud, as he joins the audience in applauding Congressman Lewis.

Oh, and in Scott McCorkle's intro, he said:

Equality is letting every Salesforce employee doing their best work – no matter their gender, their sexual orientation, or the color of your skin – that’s what equality means to us.
