Protects Jobs, Saves Households, Cuts Emissions: 2024 Federal Budget
Fellow Queenslander and Logan local Jim Chalmers just delivered his third federal budget, and Queenslanders are big winners.

Energy Bill Support
Additional electricity rebates mean most households won’t need to pay another electricity bill this year as Labor supports households meet the higher costs of groceries and other staples.
The Miles Government has already announced Australia’s biggest cost of living support package - $1,000 cash back on energy bills for every Queensland household.
This additional federal rebate of $300 for households and $325 for businesses will supercharge that support.
Green Hydrogen Powerhouse
The Albanese Government’s focus on a Future Made in Australia will see a $6.7 billion investment in green hydrogen projects that will help Australia get ahead in the global race to produce this critical fuel of the future.
Central Queensland stands to be the greatest beneficiary with the best green hydrogen potential and projects already in the works including CQH2.
The Central Queensland Green Hydrogen Project is one of the largest projects of its kind in Australia, supporting more than 8,900 new jobs, and delivering $17.2 billion in exports and $12.4 billion to the sunshine state's GDP.

A Renewable Energy Superpower
At a State and Federal level, Labor is backing our clean economy future, ensuring that it delivers for all Queenslanders and for the country.
This Budget invests in our renewable energy superpower ambitions, including a $7.1 billion boost for critical minerals processing, so the industry is rewarded for scale and success.
In Queensland, we're unlocking the biggest stockpile of critical minerals in the country thanks to the CopperString transmission project.
It will power the North West Minerals Province, which contains more than half a trillion dollars' worth of the materials needed to build our renewable energy future.
Queensland's greatest strength is our people, and we'll need thousands more to help us build our clean energy future.
Included in the federal budget is a $91 million boost to turbocharge the energy workforce, with funding to support up to 10,000 new apprenticeships to train the next generation of SuperGrid Superheroes.
A Budget for the Future
Funding from Treasurer Chalmer’s third budget ensures the Miles Government plan for emissions reduction delivers the real action on climate that Queenslanders have voted for.
The combination of the Australian Government Budget and expectations of the Queensland Government Budget, both delivered by Queensland treasurers, will mean Queenslanders are best placed of every state and territory.

6 个月I’d prefer to change the way we look at our budget. What outcomes are actually being achieved by the public investment made? That’s our future. This means we need to ask how rebates or credits have delivered a better Australian future. We will all lose if we don’t shift our current practices.

6 个月Mate what we need is to start putting some time and effort into our young people and get them off the streets and learning a trade. It’s a important part of the process of repairing the issues that are putting them in the situation they are in. They really need to be able to feel that they are a important and useful part of the picture ??
