Protect your brand reputation

Usually the second I start talking about website maintenance, people switch off.

I get it, it’s the most un-sexy part of having a WordPress website.

I know some people find it quite scary - what if it breaks something?

But it’s also one of the most important parts.

(If you’re already yawning, let me take it off your plate. Get your first 3 months website maintenance at the special offer price if you sign up before the end of Feb.)

WordPress updates are issued for a combination of the following 3 reasons:?

  • Security - these make your site more secure
  • Performance - these make your site work more efficiently
  • New Features - these tend to make life easier for you and your visitors

Now I’m not saying that every out of date WordPress website is going to be hacked, or run slowly.

An out of date WordPress website isn’t guaranteed to be hacked.?

But if yours is unlucky enough to draw the attention of a hacker, an up to date website is going to hold up a lot better than one that hasn’t been updated for 3 months.

Out of date websites don’t always run slowly.?

BUT if it does slow down, your visitors won’t be getting the best experience.?

I don’t know about you, but I always want my potential clients to have a great experience regardless of how or where they’re interacting with my brand.

I’m not trying to be the grim reaper here.?

I want to give you all the facts so you can make an informed decision.

So how do you go about looking after your WordPress website?

There are 3 main areas:

  • Take a backup - so you have a clean working version to revert back to if there is a problem while updating your site
  • Install and test all available updates - update them one by one and give your site a quick once over in between (does the layout look right? Can you still login to your members area? Does your shop still work? Etc.
  • Run a security scan - just to make sure that no-one who shouldn’t have has logged in and made changes they shouldn’t have

Other things you can do are:

  • Clean up spam comments
  • Check and fix broken links

If you can commit to doing this weekly, your website will be running like a well oiled machine in no time.?

But if:

  • You don’t have time
  • It sounds boring AF
  • You’re scared of it breaking and not knowing how to fix it

I’m opening up my website maintenance package to new clients.?

If you sign up before the end of Feb you can get your first 3 months at the special offer price of £75 per month. Afterwards the price will revert to the standard price of £100 per month.

I will log into your website every week to take a backup, install and test all available updates and run a security scan.

This package has been designed to give you peace of mind and to prevent problems before they even happen.

You can lay safe in the knowledge that you have an expert hand making sure your site runs like clockwork, giving your potential clients the best experience possible.

There’s a minimum 3 month term, because there’s usually some extra work needed up front if a site hasn’t been updated in a while. After those first 3 months it will switch to a rolling monthly basis.

Find more information here, or feel free to drop me a DM with your questions.
