To Protect and Serve - with Drones

This month, we're aligning with the "Protectors and Defenders" theme from Dawn Zoldi and the @Dawn of Autonomy Podcast, which perfectly complements our recent focus at industry events. We'll be joining her on her podcast at the end of the month to discuss how our weather solutions empower those who protect and serve our communities with the most accurate, actionable weather data.

Counter-UAS (Unmanned Aircraft Systems) operations are crucial for defending against unauthorized or hostile drone activities. Accurate weather intelligence enables these teams to anticipate and adapt to real-time conditions, ensuring that detection systems remain operational and that countermeasures are precisely timed. For example, understanding wind patterns can help predict drone flight paths, while real-time weather updates can prevent countermeasures from failing due to unexpected environmental changes.

This month, our partner spotlight shines on Xelevate - D.C.'s & NC's first UAS Center of Excellence , who recently hosted George Mason University and guests from the 9th Air Force (AFCENT) and the United States Central Command (CENTCOM) to showcase the latest UAS and CUAS technologies for real-life military applications. You can read more about this event in our feature blog, Advancing Military UAS and CUAS Technologies: A Two-Day Event at Xelevate’s Unmanned Systems Center of Excellence, and learn more about Xelevate’s journey and vision for the industry in our partner spotlight.

As BVLOS waivers become more common in Public Safety and Emergency Management Drone as First Responder (DFR) operations, we've partnered with DRONERESPONDERS , through the DFR Working Group, to elevate Public Safety operations through precision weather intelligence, enhancing situational awareness. Our white paper, Weather Precision for BVLOS DFR Operations - Response-ready weather solutions for public safety resilience, provides guidance to help departments navigate the latest weather technology, improve Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures (TTPs), which can help secure funding, optimize resource allocation and operational efficiency. The paper is released just in time for the Georgia Public Safety Drone Summit on August 14-15, 2024, at Tyler Perry Studios in Atlanta (we’ll be there - be sure to stop by and say hello) and 2024 DRONERESPONDER PUBLIC SAFETY SUMMIT SESSIONS at Commercial UAV in September.

Don’t forget to tune into The Dawn of Autonomy podcast as in concludes a great month of “Protectors & Defenders”, (sponsored by 诺基亚 and Flying Lion, Inc. (FLI) ) with TruWeather Solutions’ CEO Don Berchoff and Stas Mozolyuk , Founder and CEO of AVISION on August 28th at 11 am ET.
