Protect Now or Pay Later

The above images show a project that has been properly and professionally protected against damages by Armor-Guard Protective Coatings proprietary fluid applied, non-adhesive second skin , peel able protective membrane which protects the finishes for a full three years after application. Three years you ask? Yes, Three years protection from scratched glass, weld spar, grind spark, acid corrosion, solvents, concrete, stucco, drywall mud and most any other damage from environmental conditions or careless adjacent trades both interior and exterior. Even in the harshest South Florida UV and Salt Air environment AGPC performs flawlessly. At the end of the construction cycle AGPC is simply peeled away and disposed of as typical household waste.

Many times we are asked about the cost of our protection and how it fits into the project budget. The simple answer is this: "you cannot afford NOT to protect with Armor-Guard Protective Coatings." To some that may seem a pompous sales phrase but in reality it is the hard truth. Let's take a moment and look at the cost of protecting the facade surfaces from damage as a percentage of the erected wall cost and then look at the costs, both financial and otherwise, to repainting mullions in the field, repairing or replacing glass, or worst case scenario replacing units all together due to damage.

Based on a recent survey conducted in active construction markets througout the United States, the average cost for a standard unitized glazed wall runs approximately $83.00 per square foot installed. Of course, some markets are higher, some lower but we will use this relative cost as an example. Based on this, a 100,000 square foot curtain wall contract would sell in the range of $8.3 million USD installed. That is a huge chunk of change and a large investment to throw out there unprotected or under protected! Based on these numbers the cost to protect critical areas of the curtain wall with Armor-Guard Protective Coatings for a typical installation would run less than 1% of the total curtain wall contract and that is using field applied labor rates. On the flip side of that if left unprotected the cost to refinish mullions in the field starts in the range of $70.00 per hour with paint costs running anywhere from $300.00 per gallon to $600.00 per gallon and up. Not to mention the time lost and delayed occupancy which must now be accounted for. On one recent project alone a contractor shared with us the story of a job gone south due to damage. We calculated the cost to have protected his project with Armor-Guard Protective Coatings as $152,000.00. The project was in excess of 200,000 square feet of total curtain wall area. Needless to say that firm is now a protection client of Armor-Guard Protective Coatings, Inc. as their cost to repaint mullions and repair scratched glass alone exceeded $1.5 Million USD on a $17Million USD facade contract. This of course did not include factoring in the additional management required by the General Contractor and Owner, the delayed occupancy of the damaged spaces nor the possible damages done to reputations due to a questionable deliverable with warranties unaccounted for.

Pennies on the dollar for real protection that works in real construction environments. Armor-Guard Protective Coatings will not UV bond to your substrate, blow off in the wind (we actually have projects that remained protected through full hurricane force winds) and wind up costing you more to remove than it did to buy as some films and tapes sold a "protection" will. Simple, durable, lasting protection is what you get with AGPC coupled with unparalleled customer service, training, response time and our THREE YEAR peel ability guarantee. Whether it be the building facade, ornamental metals, stone, marble, granite, flooring, tile, or most any other bespoke finish, Armor-Guard Protective Coatings, Inc. can and will protect it for you.
